Who this is for

This flagship consultation is for an employee in Germany who intends to resign, has an offer in progress, or needs to test a proposed last working day before speaking with HR. It is especially useful when a contract refers to probation, quarter-end dates, collective agreements, or statutory notice under § 622 BGB.

What we examine

Before the meeting, send the relevant contract pages with personal identifiers redacted if preferred. During the session we map the clause wording, contract start date, probation status, delivery method, accrued leave, and the date on which the employer must receive written notice. We distinguish the contractual end date from a hoped-for last day in the workplace.

You receive a concise follow-up note within one business day containing the dates discussed, assumptions, open questions, and a resignation-letter checklist. Drafting complex settlement agreements, litigation strategy, tax advice, and representation before an employer or court are excluded. Where legal representation is appropriate, we will say so clearly.

Session flow

  1. Context and constraints: your intended move, new-role timing, and relevant contract terms.
  2. Calendar calculation: possible receipt dates and resulting employment end dates.
  3. Practical sequence: manager conversation, signed letter, proof of delivery, leave, and handover.
  4. Risk check: uncertainties that need confirmation from HR, a union, or a specialist lawyer.

Preparation and limits

Bring your employment contract, amendments, applicable collective agreement if named, and a calendar with any new-employer deadline. Advice is provided in English and concerns employment in Germany. The consultation offers independent information and planning support, not a guarantee of an employer’s interpretation or legal representation.

Next step

Use the contact form to propose a date and briefly name the clause or timing question. We respond within one business day with availability and a secure method for sharing documents.
